I was born in Buffalo NY a long, long time ago. Only child. I grew up in Florida, and schooled there through college. Received a BS in Chemistry from the University of South Florida.

(The author as a tot. Note the pencil and paper. Started early, I did.)

Except for a brief stint working in a retail clothing distribution center (an education in itself), I spent my entire working career in manufacturing/R&D of one form or another, and recently retired from a large pharmaceutical manufacturer. When I’m not working or writing, I read. Garden. Cooking has morphed into a bit of a hobby over the years. Occasionally, I noodle with my trusty Peavey Falcon (a Fender Stratocaster knock-off) I’ve been promising myself for years I’ll learn to play. I want to play guitar like Johnny Marr, but I can’t seem to find the time to practice. Which of course means the noodling will most likely continue for quite some time.(Portrait photo by Libby Bulloff)

I majored in Art for a year or so, and took a few drawing classes. I wasn’t the best in my class, but I enjoyed it until I didn’t anymore. I have a few drawings tucked away in an old portfolio. This was one of the first things I drew that wasn’t an assignment. A friend of my roommate said it reminded him of “Murder in the Cathedral.” You could say it’s idomeni-like, maybe. I can’t believe I drew it over 30 years ago…

And finally, the stone rabbit that resides in my backyard beneath the spirea. Because I likes him.
